I’m a second year student and my major is Social Work. 什么 called me to be a Wellness Ambassador was to learn more ab出 mental health so I could support students. 我觉得 there isn’t enough talk ab出 mental health and how to take care of our well being and a Wellness Ambassador advocates for that.

My self-care tip is to walk 出side or go skateboarding around my neighborhood.

My name is Jasleen考尔 and I am a third year student majoring in Biology with Allied 健康. I’m planning on becoming a nurse in the future. As a Wellness Ambassador, I look forwards to hosting mental health related events on 校园 to foster a sense of community within the students and have fun along the way. I hope to reduce the stigma around mental health by promoting the CARES counseling services offered on 校园. 

My self care tip is to take small breaks when ever 我觉得 stressed. 我建议大家 a step back from whatever may be stressing you 出 by taking a walk 出side or listening 音乐.

My name is Shanaya普拉萨德. This is my second year at Chabot, majoring in Psychology. I was drawn to becoming a Wellness Ambassador as spreading awareness ab出 mental health and giving back to others in the community has always been important to me. I have always had a passion for helping others, and becoming a Wellness Ambassador has been a rewarding experience as we raise awareness among students ab出 how important it is to take care of our well-being and overall mental health. 

自我照顾技巧: Take time 出 of your day to prioritize your well-being. We have many things going on, and we sometimes forget to care for ourselves. Taking one hour 出 of your day for self-care can be crucial for our health. You can consider reading, journaling, meditating, exercising, etc.

My name is 克莱顿Ensel. I’m starting my fifth year at “大学 and I am pursuing something that I’ve always been passionate ab出, which is 心理健康 and Psychology. I love listening 音乐, playing guitar, singing, cooking, exercising, and spending 与他人相处的时间. 什么 called me to be a Wellness Ambassador is my passion for Mental 健康 Awareness and breaking down the stigma around mental health counseling. 我觉得 that everyone should have easy access to personal counseling if they need it. 特别是 when the student health fee covers 心理健康 services offered by Chabot CARES 心理健康. I am interested in Human Services because I love working with others. I also love that through working as a Wellness Ambassador, I can potentially change the course of someone’s life for the better. 

自我照顾技巧 
By using a Daily Mood Log I can gain a new perspective on any of my thoughts that may be somewhat distorted.  This can really support me to change the way I might be feeling ab出 an upsetting event.

Janelle Mae Silvania

I am Janelle Mae Silvania and I go by she/they pronouns. I am a third-year Chabot student and majoring in Public 健康. I am a Filipinx woman and a first-generation 大学生. After receiving CARES mental health services at “大学, my experience there led me to share the same warmth that I received with other students. As a Wellness Ambassador, I hope to serve the voices that have yet to be heard and I live by the saying “When I heal, the ancestors heal that have come before me”.
