I am a first-generation Chicana, born, raised, and educated in the Bay Area. Despite all odds and stigma associated with alternative education, I am proud to have graduated from a local continuation high school. During high school, my teachers connected me with Chabot College. I participated in various learning community projects and became a tutor, peer advisor, and mentor on campus. During my time at Chabot, I earned two associate degrees. #GoGladiators! I then transferred to San Francisco State University and earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Latina/o Studies and a master's degree in Counseling. #GoGators!
